Life Verses:  Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Five ways to describe him: (1) Visionary.  (2) Gifted communicator. (3) 100% sold out to Christ. (4) Passionate about his family.  (5) And as normal as your next door neighbor (but only if that’s a good thing).

What he’s earned besides accolades: Ordained Elder of the Church of the Nazarene, B.A. from Lewis University, Romeoville, IL, Master of Ministry in Church Growth from Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, IL, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, IL.  Steve is also a Master Certified Christian Life Coach.  Alliance Counseling and Coaching, LLC is owned by Steve and MaryAnn.  Additional Information can be found at www.alliancepotential.com.

So what does this alphabet soup of credentials mean?

a. Nothing, without love (1 Corinthians 13:2).

b. He really enjoys studying and learning.

c. He knows impressive words and even gets to use them occasionally.

d. All of the above.

Where he came from?  He was born and raised in the wonderful community of Morris.  Following a 30 year career with Caterpillar, Inc., (that’s a long time at one place) God called him into full-time ministry.  During the 4 year tenure at Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene as their Executive Pastor, God stirred his heart to start a brand new church in Morris, IL.  The dream focused on reaching those who weren’t currently attending church for whatever reason and share the truth that they mattered to God.

What he cherishes: His wife, MaryAnn of 29 years and five exceptional children – Chad (Kelly), Shawna (Jay), Kevin (Ashley), Keith, and Scott (Ashley).  The legacy and tradition carries on with three of the brightest and best grandchildren in the universe – Keagan, Teighlor, and Haley.
